Intro to CrossFit

Intro to CrossFit is the perfect training program for anyone just starting out and looking to get fit. It runs in a small group setting, but offers the benefits of a personal coach and the motivation that comes from working out in a group. The focus is on basic movements and fundamentals which makes this accessible to adults of ANY fitness level from beginners on up. Absolutely no prior fitness experience or conditioning is required.

Classes will meet twice a week and will be instructed by a qualified CrossFit instructor. Every class is different and will be catered to the group at hand and the individuals within that group. Instruction will be given on proper form for bodyweight movements such the squat, push-up, sit-up and pull-up. You'll learn how to safely and effectively add weight to movements with a barbell, dumb bells, kettlebells, medicine balls, etc. You will be properly introduced to technical lifts like the shoulder press and push press, back squat, front squat and Olympic lifts. You'll learn how to scale your workout to meet your needs and gain an understanding of what functional fitness means for your health and longevity.

A good example of this specification or "scaling" is a push-up. For some people that means a standard chest-to-floor push up. For others, it may mean a kneeling or wall push-up. Everyone is different and we ensure that your workout suits YOU! Working at your ability level and at your own pace is the key to your success.

*Attending this program will satisfy the "Foundations Session" requirement we have of all new members attending our regular adult CrossFit classes.
